When not teaching, Claire is also a licensed social worker and pageant coach. Then after having a conversation with her mother and aunt (both retired and avid Zumba-enthusiasts) that an epiphany was made: Zumba is about having a great time with great people – is NOT about getting everything “right” and “perfect.” There was no going back: Claire got her license 2013 and started teaching immediately. Taking some time to study at the The Ailey School in New York, Claire then spent 3 years dancing with various musical theater ensembles in Pennsylvania, Florida and New York.Īfter moving back to Boston in 2010 that she “discovered” Zumba.and LOVED the cardio, but hated the concept. Zumba, a type of dance fitness that’s been around since the 1990s, is the backbone of the dance fitness crazeit incorporates a variety of Latin-inspired dance moves and music to promote a healthy heart, a healthy dose of aerobic activity, and a fun, exciting way to build and tone muscle, improve cardio, promote flexibility, and decrease. Initially studying ballet, pointe, and flamenco, Claire added styles of jazz, modern, and step during her high school and college years. C laire has been dancing since she was 5.
